The days are hotter, making you want to spend more time outside in the mornings or evenings... Not to mention the rains.... Unfortunately, that also
brings round these nasty little blood suckers..
Well, if you have
already been bitten, I know of a couple of treatments to help stop the itch...
#1
Rubbing the bite
with a dry bar of soap will give instant relief!
Any kind of bar soap
will work.
#2
Orajel will stop
mosquito bites from itching immediately.
Now if you want to
avoid the bites all together, there are some essential oil mixtures that will
help, and a few other ideas to try as well:
#1
DIY Natural Mosquito Repellent
○ 2 tablespoons neem seed oil
○ 1 tablespoon olive oil
○ 1 tablespoon coconut oil
○ 10-15 drops of citronella essential oil
If necessary, melt coconut oil. Mix together
all ingredients and store in a small jar with an eye dropper top. To use, rub
sparingly onto exposed skin.
Note: You should not use neem seed oil if you
are pregnant or trying to get pregnant, as it is an abortifacient.
#2
Ingredients
1 heaping cup fresh
basil leaves

essential oil

water

1. Place the basil
leaves in a glass container and pour the boiling water over the top
2. Allow the leaves
to steep for around three hours.

Mosquito Trap
Here’s what you
need.
1. A used 1.5 or 2
Ltr Coke Bottle.
2. Brown Sugar
3. Yeast
4. Water
5. Scissors
The process is
illustrated below:
Wondering how this
actually works? Well, mosquitoes are attracted towards sources that generate
carbon dioxide such as humans and animals. The above-mentioned solution of
sugar and yeast will produce carbon dioxide at slow rate and the mosquitoes
will be drawn towards the bottle opening, ending up in water.
